  1. Psalms reminded me of the Olive Tree Allegory found in Jacob 5. In Jacob 5, the kingdom of God is likened to a olive Tree and when people are faithful and obedient the tree gives off good fruit. In Psalms 1:3, a man is likened to a tree. If he takes advantage of spiritual resources (heeds counsel of God, studies the scriptures (delights in law), he will not wither and he will bear fruit (propser).

As I read Genesis 1-2, my interest was struck with Adam and Eve. Eve was made by a rib. My mother used to have poem in the house that said something to the effect, Eve was made by Adam's rib so as to be an equal partner but also protected by him.

Psalms and Genesis 1-2 also reminded of the M. Russell Ballard talk in General Conference yesterday. He mentioned some statistics about marriage. What makes a successful happy marriage?

So to me the above thoughts could relate to families and strong marriages. We must nourish and work to make "our tree" strong. If we take advantage of what the church programs offers us we can strength our marriages and families.

Just a side note: 3 Nephi 8:1 I found it interesting "a just man keep the record". 3 Nephi 23:7 - looks like Nephi was that man.
