Life by the yard is hard; by the inch it’s a cinch.
This is a little Sunday Night Treat. I'm studying tomorrows lesson in Ezekiel about his calling as a prophet and how he was called a watchman. Part of the lesson asks to review the prophet's most recent conference addresses with the kids. I was inspired to read the talk from the young women's meeting. He said some beautiful messages for us as women. He paints a beautiful picture of the pre-existence. One quote I loved is in the title, another is "Every Cinderella has her midnight" Since I don't have a young women age daughter in my home, I often overlook this conference session. I assume I'm not alone ANYHOO long story short, this is a beautiful talk. The transcript is here It is called Believe, Obey Endure.
Tell me what impressed you most. I didn't watch it, but I could hear his sweet voice in my ears. Finding this talk is yet another tender mercy of the Lord. He loves us and is ever mindful of our needs.

General Conference Bonus
This week in seminary we began studying Jeremiah. One of the lessons focused on their wishy washy approach to living the law of Moses. The people would go to the temple to do their sacrifices, but through out the week forget their covenants. I wanted to show the boys how the ancient prophets and the modern prophets have the same message, and since we know what happened to ancient Israel, we know what can lie ahead of us if we don't heed the words of the Lord's messengers.-
Anyhoo for that reason I chose this talk.
And you can find the text of the talk here

Wednesday Bonus
This is Elder Hallmstroms talk about being Converted to the Gospel through the Lord's Church. He differentiates between church activity and Gospel Activity. I chose it today because it really spoke to me at conference and also because it goes along with my Seminary Lesson on Isaiah 48 today. Chapter 48 is a plea for the House of Israel to return to it's covenants. It's easy to dismiss this chapter as for "them" but we are of the House of Israel., Also 1 Nephi 20 quotes this chapter and adds additional insight to make it clear that he is referring to those of us who have been baptized into the church and make covenants. Isaiah closes the chapter saying there is no peace for the wicked, or for those that think they do good, but really are just skating by.
